Common Men's Fashion Mistakes
We all make fashion errors now and again, but several fashion mistakes made by men are just unpardonable and downright illegal. Based on personal experience, I have summarized eight common fashion mistakes by men to shun at all costs.
Socks with Sandals - Now who determined that this was acceptable in the first place? Living in the Northwest, I am regrettably confronted with some of the most awful delinquents of this major fashion don't. I understand that when it is chilly outside, we all dream of the heat of the summer sun, but sporting socks with sandals doesn't make the seasons transform any quicker. If you want to wear sandals this badly, move to a warmer climate.
Novelty Ties, Shirts, Boxer Shorts, Etc. - Just say nay, please. There is nothing enduring about novelty clothing nor does it project a stylish, put together image. Leave the smiley faces, hearts, shamrocks, animal and various other prints on the shelf of the store where you found them.
Loud Designer Labels - This is a peculiar favorite annoyance. I don't want to be a walking advertisement and neither must you. It's not a sophisticated look. Just because you are wearing a designer's name on your chest, sleeve, or anywhere, doesn't make you classy. Keep it discreet and straightforward.
Backpacks at the Office - I work in an exceptionally expensive apartment building in Houston, filled with lawyers and other professional types, and it never ceases to astonish me how many men wearing fine suits are carrying backpacks. Unless you are a student or are hiking up a mountain, abandon the knapsack at home. If you need something for your gym clothes, buy a nice looking gym bag (and there are options that don't have big logos on them), or if you need something to hold your various documents, cell phone, day-planner, etc., get a nice messenger bag.
Thick Shoes - These were acceptable back in the 90s, but the large chunky shoes, especially those with square toes, should be pensioned off at this point in time. Pick something traditional that stands the test of time.
Shiny or Glittery Shirts and Suits - If you are looking for something to go out nightclubbing in, I can think of much better choices than those that are glittery, shiny and ultimately tacky. If you are at a loss, try a form fitting black t-shirt or black dress shirt which can be worn with denims or slacks and dress shoes or casual shoes.
Clothes That Are Too Loose Fitting - In a word, sloppy. Except if you are a hip hop artist, it's not the appropriate look. Pick clothes that suit your body. This may involve some testing by combiming and matching particular cuts and designs until you discover the correct fit for your body that is suitable.
Unflattering Colors - That gorgeous navy cashmere sweater you found on sale after Christmas at your local retailer might be truly enticing, but if it makes you look bad, it cannot be considered an excellent deal. You should pick the colors you wear to flatter your natural features such as your eye color, skin tone and body shape. Keep this in mind when putting your look together.
